Eastbay carries hundreds of shoes to meet your training needs in sizes and colors that suit your fit and style. We’ll help you find the shoe that’s right for you.
Running shoes vs. training shoes
There are differences between running shoes and training shoes. Runners use a smooth, repetitive motion, so running shoes are built specifically to be lightweight and provide cushioning and breathability.
Training shoes are generally made with sturdier materials to support up-and-down, side-to-side, and multidirectional motion and provide more ankle, heel, and midfoot support than running shoes. Training shoes need to be stable and supportive to set a solid foundation for you to push off and pivot quickly. Outsoles are built to provide traction for quick stops and starts, and the shoes should be durable enough for any type of training activity.
Finding the trainer you need
Not exactly sure what you’re looking for? There’s a variety of performance trainers grouped under all-purpose training shoes. They’re suitable for indoor and outdoor training, and have the cushioning, support, flexibility, and stability for activities such as cone drills, obstacle courses, running, boot camps, fitness classes, indoor racquet sports, or multi-purpose training.
Find trainers for organized or informal exercises — strength and weight training shoes that that provide sturdy support to anchor yourself while lifting, soccer-inspired training shoes with the traction and protection for indoor soccer or gym floors, and cross fit shoes made with lightweight, flexible materials that help you seamlessly transition from weights to cardio.
