Jordan 6 Rings

The Jordan 6 Rings mixes in elements from the Air Jordan VI, VII, VIII, and the XI, XII, and XIII for a greatest-hits album of MJ’s career.

Pieces of greatness

MJ led Chicago past Los Angeles in 1991 to secure his first title, and he did so in the Air Jordan VI. The heel tab and lace lock carry over into the Jordan 6 Rings.

Chicago defended its title with a series win over Portland in 1992, with the Air Jordan VII at center court. The inner bootie of the VII carries over to the 6 Rings, wrapping your foot in adaptive comfort.

“His Airness” completed the “three-peat” in 1993 at the expense of Phoenix and was powered by the Air Jordan VIII. The carpeted Jumpman logo on the tongue reappears on the 6 Rings, as does the ankle strap that, on the AJ VIII, fastened down a lace shroud.

The Air Jordan XI of 1995-96 marked MJ’s return to greatness from a short retirement, and this time Seattle was the victim as MJ took his fourth title home to Chicago. The shoe’s most striking element was its ballistic mesh upper and patent leather mudguard, both of which comprise most of the upper for the 6 Rings.

Jordan led Chicago past Utah twice, the first time in 1997 for his fifth championship. He did so in the Air Jordan XII, and the “two three” that was stitched down the tongue carries into the 6 Rings.

Finally, Utah was the only of MJ’s opponents to earn a rematch in the finals, but to no avail as Chicago closed the book on its legendary run. Michael did so in the Air Jordan XIII, the outsole of which was designed to resemble the paw of a black cat. That sole carries into the 6 Rings.
