In 1906, Rihachi Mizuno and his younger brother Rizo created a shop that sold small miscellaneous Western items, including baseballs, in Osaka, Japan. As their store grew over the years, the brothers started taking orders of custom-made athletic wear, which became an immediate hit. In 1910, they upgraded their shop and moved to Umeda Shinmichi in Osaka. From that point forward, the company started going by the name, Mizuno.
