The SL12Z5 Senior League model from Louisville Slugger is new in 2012. The company revolutionized adult baseball and softball with the release of this Z-1000. Now that technology is coming to the Senior League level. The driving force behind the Z-1000 is S1 iD Technology that allows the barrel to flex to its maximum allowable performance. Two inner discs positioned inside the barrel stop it from from flexing past the legal limit. Also being introduced with this bat is a new composite structure called LS-2X Composite. This thinner, high-strength graphite fiber blend allows for reduced wall thickness, to give you better, more durable performance while still reducing the bat weight. The thinner fibers mean more layers in the barrel for added strength. The iST barrel-to-handle connection gives players maximum performance, even on inside hits. With a balanced swing weight, the Z-1000 is built for both power and control. Adding to the functionality is a Louisville Slugger end cap and a 31/32" tapered handle with synthetic grip. The measurements include a 2 5/8" barrel diameter and a -8 weight ratio. This bat comes in 30", 31", 32" lengths and is backed by a full 12-month manufacturer's warranty. The Z-1000 features a USSSA 1.15 stamp and is legal for use in 2012.
