Bat Buy Guarantee

If you purchase a baseball or softball bat from Eastbay that we claim is approved for your league, and that bat is no longer approved within three months of the purchase date, we will refund your money. That's our Bat Buy Guarantee.

If you have questions about this guarantee or the legal status of your bat, please call Customer Service at 1.800.628.6301. You can also tweet @Eastbay on Twitter or post your question on the wall of our Facebook baseball page at

The current trend in the baseball industry is to continually reevaluate performance limits and safety protections. More and more leagues are changing their equipment standards with little or no notice, with players and parents finding out that the bat they purchased just weeks ago will no longer be allowed in competitive play.

How can I qualify for the guarantee?

Purchase your bat from Eastbay. If there's a sudden rule change in the leagues we monitor, we can help our customers affected by that change. If you don't think your bat is legal anymore, contact Customer Service either by email, phone or live chat. They will send your information to the bat team, and they'll do the research for you to find out if you can still play with your current bat. If you can't, then you will qualify for the guarantee.

How does it work?

If a bat comes with the guarantee, you can see the league approval stamp underneath the bat's picture on the description page. Similarly, if you use our Bat Finder to search for bats by league and age bracket, you can be assured that the bats that show up in the search results are legal for that league and age bracket. If there's a rule change, we will usually know before you do, so when you contact us, we will know the legal status of your bat right away. If there is a discrepancy between what you were told by your coach and what we were told by your league, we will seek some sort of resolution so you will be able to use your bat. We've tried to assemble the most up-to-date information for league rules in all states. As long as we can verify the rule change for your state, we can honor the guarantee.
If you have a confirmed claim, one of two things will happen. If your bat still has the wrapper on it, you can return the bat and we will refund the shipping charges as well as refund the bat purchase price. If you've already unwrapped your bat, we will mail you a GiftCard for the purchase price.
The Guarantee covers bats affected by sudden rule changes. Your purchase is guaranteed for three months. As of January 1, 2012 NFHS bats must be BBCOR Certified, and have the BBCOR label screened onto the bat barrel. Bats that are BESR Certified only are no longer legal.
