When his father passed away when he was just nine years old, John Wall had to become the man of the house. He freely admits it was a tough road, but he set his sights on playing college ball. John had to prove himself to secure a starting position on the University of Kentucky squad, but he went on to be named the SEC Basketball Player of the Year and a first team All American after his stellar freshman season.
After being chosen first overall by Washington in the 2010 NBA Draft, John Wall was just one of three players to average more than 16 points and eight assists in his first NBA campaign despite struggling with knee and foot injuries all season. He also dished a record 22 assists and scored 12 points to win Most Valuable Player honors in the rookie game during All-Star weekend.
John Wall spent the majority of his rookie year playing in several team-themed colors of the Reebok Zig Slash basketball shoe. For his sophomore year in the pros, Wall will be wearing his first official signature shoe – the Reebok Zig Encore. This new sneaker is a lighter, sleeker version of the original Zig Slash and features John's signature on the right collar and his brand new "JW" logo on the tongue.
