Doug Easton founded Easton in 1922 to manufacturer sporting goods equipment. The company is one of the leading innovators in many different sports equipment categories by always pushing technology forward to benefit the athletes that use Easton sporting goods. The main sports categories under which Easton manufacturers equipment includes baseball, softball, football, lacrosse, hockey, and bicycling.

In 2006 Easton Sports merged with Bell Sports, a manufacturer of auto racing helmets and motorcycle helmets. Riddell, another brand owned by Easton, is the official helmet of the NFL.
