Ben Zobrist says that from an early age, "Eastbay really spurred my love for sports equipment and shoes in general… I was looking at all the different sports in the Eastbay catalog." He was a high school, basketball/football/baseball/cross country athlete from Illinois who never expected sports to lead him on the path they did. During college summers, Zobrist played for the Wisconsin Woodchucks out of Eastbay's hometown: Wausau, Wisconsin. He was then drafted into the minors and after some injuries, thought he might be done with baseball. But this past season he was a part of the Rays' playoff run, one of the most dramatic in baseball history. Today, his advice to future Eastbay athletes is to play multiple sports and try different positions. "You're only going to help yourself as a player if you try other positions. Don't lock yourself into one position. It gives your coach a lot of flexibility. It gives you a lot of opportunity.
