They researched the different aspects of a spider web, from its effective use of negative space to intricate details and extremely functional design. For centuries, nature has been utilized as a great source for inspiration. That's why they looked to the spider web as a guide for their new PUMA BioWeb Elite training shoe.

They set out to create a shoe that was cushioned yet stable, stable yet light, light yet strong, and strong yet flexible. With this concept in mind, PUMA designers developed the never before seen BioWeb Elite silhouette. It starts with a WebCage upper that's made with a combination of a breathable mesh inner frame and injected polyurethane (PU) overlays that work in tandem to offer maximum support and durability in a lightweight and ultra flexible package.

However, the web concept doesn't stop with the upper. This design carries into the mid- and outsole construction. It features a flexible TPU heel wrap that absorbs the impact and discomfort associated with heel strike. The heel counter fuses with a solid rubber outsole that houses strategically placed flex grooves to deliver flexibility and a smooth ride whether running, jogging, walking, or training.
