The fifth generation of the Nike Hyperdunk basketball shoe uses Flywire technology that features thin nylon fibers strategically placed on the upper to lock the foot in place. This provides support and stability, while reducing excess weight. Hyperfuse construction welds three layers of material using a hot-melt process to create a very sturdy shoe with awesome breathability. Designed specifically for basketball, the Lunarlon cushioning system features a soft foam core encapsulated inside a lightweight Phylon midsole to offer comfort and shock absorption. This unique technology allows the force of impact to be more evenly distributed across the foot and helps reduce those painful pressure points. A 3-D shaped, fiberglass-reinforced, composite-midfoot shank adds torsional rigidity and responsiveness. The rubber outsole sports a herringbone pattern that gives outstanding grip and traction on any playing surface. A high-wrap lateral outrigger brings on reinforcement for those hard cuts, providing players with the support they need. Technologies such as Flywire, Hyperfuse, and Lunarlon continue to make the Hyperdunk the most innovative and technically advanced basketball shoe in the Nike line.
