BBCOr Bats

In order for your baseball bat to be legal for high school or collegiate , you need a BBCOR Bat. BBCOR (Batted Ball Coefficient of Restitution) is the bat standard for the allowable speed that a baseball can come off of a bat when hit. The BBCOR rules are in place to control the barrel flex of bats.

A higher amount of flex will create more ball speed when ricocheted off of your bat. BBCOR bats now use stiffer or thicker barrel walls to keep the trampoline effect under control. Essentially, the bats are built to perform more like a wood bat would. Because of the limits to the offensive game, players will need to make their fielding skills stronger.

High school BBCOR standards replaced the old BESR standards on January 1, 2012. Reducedperformance bats were immediately released. But manufacturers continued to work to bring players models that produced the maximum flex allowed under the rules. Performance alloys and composites with specially designed barrels are now increasing in popularity among players.

To get the maximum offense out of your bat, try using a length that is an inch or a half-inch shorter than your usual length to lessen the weight you feel during your swing. Finding what you're most comfortable with may also require trying a few different bats. Eastbay carries the top BBCOR baseball bat models from brands that players trust to perform. Out selection includes DeMarini, Easton, Louisville Slugger, Marucci, Nike, Rawlings, and more, so you can bring the your perfect bat to the plate.
