There are many factors to consider when choosing a cleat. At Eastbay, you can choose between a variety of colors, styles, outsoles, and upper materials from top-tier brands like Nike and adidas. To get through the huge selection, there are some factors you can consider, based on your playing style and position on the field.
When choosing an upper material, you'll usually have three options. Synthetics will be lightweight, water-resistant, and durable, but they do provide less ball feel and take some time to break in. Natural leather provides good support and a better touch, but can absorb water that makes them heavier. Usually, the most prized material is kangaroo leather. It has the benefits of leather, but will mold to your foot and remain soft like no other material can.
Based on the surface you play on, the outsole of your soccer cleat is also an important consideration. Eastbay carries firm and natural ground (FG), hard ground (HG), artificial ground (AG), turf (TF), and indoor court (IN or IC) models. After choosing your upper and outsole, it's up to you to decide which size, style, and color speaks to your game.
