When choosing an upper material, you'll usually have three options. Synthetics will be lightweight, water-resistant, and durable, but they do provide less ball feel and take some time to break in. Natural leather provides good support and a better touch, but can absorb water that makes them heavier. Usually, the most prized material is kangaroo leather. It has the benefits of leather, but will mold to your foot and remain soft like no other material can.
Based on the surface you play on, the outsole of your soccer cleat is also an important consideration.
