    These days, there are very few players on the football field who don't wear gloves. As the game has gotten tougher with higher performance demands, football players look to their gloves to provide protection, grip, moisture control, and everything in between. These gloves are made with leather, synthetic materials, or sometimes both. Leather is durable, whereas synthetic is often more flexible. No matter which material you prefer, it is often paired with stretch elements for more range of motion or mesh zones to let air flow through the glove, reducing heat and moisture buildup.

    For receivers and other skill positions, palm tackiness is often the main priority when it comes to choosing a football glove. Every manufacturer makes and applies their grip differently, but the trusted brands have built long-lasting grips that last throughout the season. For the players who still need grip but are also getting knocked around, padded receiver gloves are becoming increasingly popular. These gloves contain the same strong palm grip but also include flexible padding that doesn't restrict. If you're in the trenches and need a true lineman style, look for gloves that contain heavier padding on the palms and back of the hand to allow for hard hitting without pain. Most lineman gloves are available in full-finger or half-finger styles, so you can choose your level of finger protection. They also include stronger, stiffer wrist support to prevent extra stress being placed on this area.

    Once you've selected the right glove type for your position and playing style, make sure it fits correctly. To decide your glove size, measure your hand from the tip of your middle finger to the base of the hand. Whether you want your glove to fit tightly or more loosely is up to you, just go up or down a size as needed.
