AKOO, an acronym for A King Of Oneself, is an urban Americana clothing line that was launched in 2008 by rap artistT.I. and Jason Geter, both co-founders of Grand Hustle Records. Dubbed the Jay-Z of the South by Pharrell Williams, T.I. established himself as one of rap's most talented MCs during the early 2000s. He also found success on the big screen, taking on roles in the movies ATL (2006) and American Gangster (2007) alongside Denzel Washington. Given his success in the music and film industries and his affinity for fashion-forward style, it was only natural that a clothing line followed. AKOO clothing is inspired by the great outdoors and urban street culture and has been described by T.I. as upscale urban. The AKOO clothing line incorporates top-of-the-line fabrics and T.I.'s unique sense of style, resulting in a variety of comfortable options for all seasons, including premium, lightweight T-Shirts, cozy cardigans and sweaters, embroidered wovens, premium leather jackets and the finest denim. Versatile by nature, AKOO clothing has been spotted on a variety of stars ranging from hip-hop artist Big Boi to talk show host Larry King.
